The heart of a culture and a country is her small businesses. There is a purity of value that is created in the best of them. There is a purity of value because they are driven by their love of the creative process and their desire to create a more perfect solution.

There is a very simple philosophy around this thinking: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/page869.html

In that light, you might enjoy seeing a few segments of our television show that was shot in the Midcoast of Maine The showhas been airing on PBS stations around the nation and on the Voice of America around the world.

Barbara Scully of Glidden Point Oysters, Damariscotta River, will beon our homepage later today. Her interview is always right here: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1379

Chef Michael Gagné is interviewed here: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1380 His restaurant, the Robinhood Free Meeting House, is over in Georgetown. There is also a more recent dialogue here: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/page2001.html

Then, there is Tony Correa – A.G.A. Correa & Son – a jeweler in Edgecomb: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1382 He is a rather quiet man.

Up in Rockland there is Gil Harper and his Weatherend furniture:http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1381 That segment was shot in the Skidompha Library in Damariscotta.

Harpswell Inn with Susan & Bill Menz is classic Maine: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1383

There are puffins in the segment with the Hardy Boats folks in New Harbor: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1384 http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/page1990.html

Perry Gates and Deborah Meehan have Maine Gold up in Rockport: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1385 That segment was shot in Damariscotta River Grille right on Main Street.

Also in Rockport is Karen & Michael Good. Michael’s signature jewelry Is sold around the world: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1386

This episode of the show was a half-hour long and each of the segments above became key teaching points about doing business. The openingsegment is here: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/video.cfm?clip=1378 The closing segment didn’t make it to the web, but another homepage did: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/page1354.html Here is the summary: http://search.smallbusinessschool.org/page98.html?epid=150

I hope you enjoy the video. If you have a friend who is a small business owner, forward this email along to them. If they come to the site and find it helpful and inspirational, they should forward this email back to us and we will provide them with free membership.

In these days, we all need to be helping each other, especially to help sustain and even grow our small businesses. They are the only hope of our future.
